“Northwind” is the title listed in the 1920 Knoedler catalogue (#2). In the correspondence between Kent and Duncan Phillips, as well as in the correspondence regarding the 1924 Kent exhibitions at the Carnegie Institute, Art Institute of Chicago and Wildenstein Galleries, the painting is referred to as “North Wind.” This latter title is also used by Kent to caption an illustration of the painting in his book “Rockwellkentiana.”
